Full Fortnight

November 4, 2007

I know I haven't posted anything in quite a while. I've been busy the past couple of weeks. I've messed up my downloading schedule and I now have a serious TV show and movie backlog.

So what have I been up to?

For one, I practically spent an entire week playing host to a colleague of mine. Justin was sent here from London for a couple of projects he's managing. Took him out drinking with the support guys (Marina Restaurant near the office and Cable Car in Makati) and also with the rest of our small development team (Misato and Metro Phi, both in Metrowalk). Also went out with him to Intramuros (just to have that whole cultural experience), a couple of malls, and Sidebar Cafe in El Pueblo (another bar). Real great guy and we got along pretty well, actually. He's quite attractive, too! It's a shame that he had to head back to London… Ah, well. I miss the guy already. Haha!

Also went to my mum's on the 2nd. I was supposed to go November 1st, but I wanted to avoid all those traveling to the provinces that day. Anyway, I arrived in Tarlac around lunch time. My sister wasn't there because apparently, she was on a field trip with her classmates. I also saw my nephew/godson again. Soooo cuuuute! Basically just bummed around at the convenience store with my cousins, mum, and aunt. That night I hardly slept because the building was along the road and there were lots of motorcycles and trucks passing by. Every time I felt like I'm finally gonna fall asleep, the loud roar of a motorcycle engine would jerk me back into wakefulness. *sigh* One of the worst nights ever.

The next day (November 3rd) my mum and I did the traditional thing and went to visit my grandparents' and uncle's grave in Dagupan. We had lunch with my uncle's wife and my cousin at their house. After that, mum wanted to visit her aunt and when I learned it was on the way to my dad's, I asked her to drop me off there and pick me up when it's time to go. So I saw my dad again! Quite a record, if I may add. Haven't seen my dad this often in years. So yeah. It was kind of a "heavy" meeting. Haven't seen my dad cry like that… ever. Like, EVER. Not even the last time I was there. So it was kind of a big deal. He's been going through rough times so I could understand. I shed a few tears but never really allowed myself to bawl with my old man. It's just not the Dalusong way, I guess. Hmm, I don't even know if he knows how to hug his own daughter. o.O

Anyway, right after pop's, we saw another friend of mum's, but all that's boring.

Skip to Siesta in Tarlac where I had to wait for a bus going home to Manila that same day. It wasn't even Sunday yet and there were already so many passengers. I waited for about an hour or so for a bus, but later I simply had no choice but to suck it up and resort to sitting on the conductor's seat for the entire journey home. Two hours later and I could hardly feel my ass. I'm never taking the bus on holidays ever again.

This morning I played some hoops with Pao and Ian (night guard at my place, hehe) over at the village basketball court. It was fun! My left arm's about ready to fall off but it was well worth it. Pao and I walked around and circled the village right after. The weather was nice and there weren't too many cars on the road. For lunch, we satisfied my craving for Subway, then shopped for food at Megamall. And I finally bought that full-length mirror I've been wanting for so long. So, yay! What a productive day.

I think that's about it. I need to lay off beer for a few more days or so. 7 days of drinking in two weeks. God. The calories! Ahhh… but San Mig Pale Pilsen wins. Light and Red Horse don't even compare. That's just me, though. Don't shoot me. Haha!
