An Excess of Take-Out
September 12, 2007
When you're single and living alone, cooking for one doesn't sound appealing at all. Granted that I'm now the proud owner of a second-hand microwave oven, I still find that my best use of it so far is heating up some take-out food and melting wax (let's not go there). It's not because food items aren't readily available to me (I live close to the mall), but it's because of my chronic laziness and its diabolic vow to always get between me and healthy living.
In any case, I've been a frequent customer of Yellow Cab Pizza and Tapa King. (I have momentarily refrained from ordering anything from Chowking and you all probably know why). There were already a couple of weekends that found me at home with a box of yummy cheese pizza and a whole lot of tapa.
Yep. For the past month or so I have been reckless with regard to eating. I am very aware that I'm heading towards fathood and into the land of bouncing cellulite. Not surprisingly, some of my pants are tighter around the waist than they used to be. And on the off chance that I would wear the wrong set of clothes, I could pass for a woman in her first trimester.
It's so freakishly easy to gain weight. If I were to eat as I please without holding back, I could gain at least 10 pounds in two weeks. I tell you, if there was one mortal sin that I wouldn't regret committing, it's gluttony.
Losing weight? Hah! That's a different matter. I mean, I've done it before (not too long ago, actually) — I was losing weight, but the road towards the sexy bored me out of my mind. Seriously, food is fun. Eating is fun. It's one of the things that I enjoy the most. Why must it come with all that fat and junk? *sigh* It's frustrating, too. If I'm trying to lose weight, I couldn't enjoy anything I eat because I have to take into account that all that yummy goodness would translate to yucky thighs if I eat more than this or that amount.
I'm babbling now. I'm not even talking about take-out food anymore. Hahaha! What was my point again? Crap. I forgot.
I should try and lose weight again.

And by the way, a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to the following people:
