An Excess of Take-Out

September 12, 2007

When you're single and living alone, cooking for one doesn't sound appealing at all. Granted that I'm now the proud owner of a second-hand microwave oven, I still find that my best use of it so far is heating up some take-out food and melting wax (let's not go there). It's not because food items aren't readily available to me (I live close to the mall), but it's because of my chronic laziness and its diabolic vow to always get between me and healthy living.

In any case, I've been a frequent customer of Yellow Cab Pizza and Tapa King. (I have momentarily refrained from ordering anything from Chowking and you all probably know why). There were already a couple of weekends that found me at home with a box of yummy cheese pizza and a whole lot of tapa.

Yep. For the past month or so I have been reckless with regard to eating. I am very aware that I'm heading towards fathood and into the land of bouncing cellulite. Not surprisingly, some of my pants are tighter around the waist than they used to be. And on the off chance that I would wear the wrong set of clothes, I could pass for a woman in her first trimester.

It's so freakishly easy to gain weight. If I were to eat as I please without holding back, I could gain at least 10 pounds in two weeks. I tell you, if there was one mortal sin that I wouldn't regret committing, it's gluttony.

Losing weight? Hah! That's a different matter. I mean, I've done it before (not too long ago, actually) — I was losing weight, but the road towards the sexy bored me out of my mind. Seriously, food is fun. Eating is fun. It's one of the things that I enjoy the most. Why must it come with all that fat and junk? *sigh* It's frustrating, too. If I'm trying to lose weight, I couldn't enjoy anything I eat because I have to take into account that all that yummy goodness would translate to yucky thighs if I eat more than this or that amount.

I'm babbling now. I'm not even talking about take-out food anymore. Hahaha! What was my point again? Crap. I forgot.

I should try and lose weight again.

* * *

And by the way, a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to the following people:
- Sarahbabes!
- Josef (Sarah's bro)
- Ron Chua
- Mayugs

In the meme time…

September 10, 2007

Ganked from this guy.

1) How old do you wish you were?
25. Because it's so baby bear — not too old, not too young, it's juuuust right.

2) Where were you when 9/11 happened?
In my old Katipunan apartment. I just came home from school.

3) What do you do when vending machines steal your money?
Bang on it, say some expletives, then roar.

4) Do you consider yourself kind?
Not too often, no.

5) If you HAD to get a tattoo, where would it be?
On my left wrist.

6) If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?
Afrikaans. Then it's off to South Africa, baby!

7) Do you know your neighbours?
Two of them. My cousin and Mr. 406 (whom I try to avoid sometimes because he just talks too much!).

8) What do you consider a holiday?
Lounging on a deserted beach, frozen strawberry margarita on hand.

9) Do you follow your horoscope?
Not really. I only get to read the daily ones at the end of the day.

10) Would you move for the person you loved?
Oh my god, yes.

11) Are you touchy feely?
Unfortunately. I'm so hug-deprived.

12) Do you believe that opposites attract?
I don't think it applies to me, but apparently it does to a select few.

13) Dream job?
Managing my own bar!

14) Favorite channel(S)?
ABC, NBC, Fox

15) Favorite place to go on weekends?
Anywhere, really.

16) Showers or Baths?
Showah! But that's because I haven't had a bubble bath… ever. There's a tub shortage in the Philippines, yes.

17) Do you paint your nails?
Just my toe nails.

18) Do you trust people easily?
Unfortunately, yes. I'm trying not to be too trusting, though… Danger, Will Robinson, danger!

19) What are your phobias?
I've recently developed a phobia for touching anything metal. Damn static shocks.

20) Do you want kids?
Yeah, I guess. But the thought of giving birth scares the bejeezus outta me.

21) Do you keep a handwritten journal?
Yeah, but I rarely write on it. This whole computer thing made my left hand almost incapable of writing legibly.

22) Where would you rather be right now?
On a rooftop overlooking the sea. And if God could spare a nice sunset and a gentle breeze, that'd be awesome, too.

23) Heavy or light sleeper?
Light. Doesn't take a lot of noise or shaking to wake me up.

24) Are you paranoid?
Nah. Paranoia tires me out so I tend to avoid the feeling.

25) Are you impatient?
Depends. When my 2GB RAM office computer hangs or my bladder is about to explode and I'm stuck in traffic… yeah, I could be very, very impatient.

26) Who can you relate to?
Kindred spirits.

27) How do you feel about interracial couples?
I've noticed that most "mixed breeds" are pretty. So by all means, go forth and multiply!

28) Have you been burned by love?
Oh yeah. Anyone who says no to this question is a big, fat, humongous LIAR!

29) What’s your main ring tone on your cell?
On Loud mode, it's "Collide" by Howie Day. Soft (Office) mode is the Skype ring tone. Haha!

30) What were you doing after midnight last night?
Sleeping.

31) What did the last text on your mobile phone say?
Some quote about pain. It's sad, really. Why do people do that — send sad text messages? I don't understand it one bit. For the love of God, keep the sadness to yourselves!

32) Whose bed did you sleep in last night?
Mine. I wub my bed.

33) What color shirt are you wearing?
Blue.

34) Favorite footwear?
Birks and Chucks.

35) Name three things you have on you at all times?
Clothes, money, keys.

36) What color are your bed sheets?
Blue and white.

37) How much cash do you have on you right now?
Around 50 bucks. Hahaha! I should withdraw some tomorrow.

38) What is your favorite part of the chicken?
Thigh! Mmm… Chicken Bacolod pa-a.

39) What’s your favorite town/city?
Ask me again in 20 years.

40) I can’t wait till?
I have my own bar.

41) Who got you to join myspace?
Me. Because I'm such a stalker. Moohahaha!

42) What did you have for dinner last night?
Ordered in some Jollibee chicken.

43) How tall are you barefoot?
5'2". *sigh* I could've used a couple extra inches.

44) Have you ever smoked heroin?
Nope for dope.

45) Do you own a gun?
Nope. But I want to fire one.

46) What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
If it's cold, a tall double vanilla tea latte from CBTL. If it's hot, hmm, maybe Gatorade.

47) What is your favourite weapon to lure in the opposite sex?
I don't lure them. The cool people just gravitate to me. (And Simon says, "Let's not be delusional." Hahaha. I heart Studio 60.)

48) Do you have A.D.D.?
Look at me! Look at me! … Is that it?

49) What time did you wake up today?
6:00AM, 6:30AM, and 7:00AM. Hail to the snooze.

50) Current worry?
Money. Geh.

51) Current hate?
Money. Geh.

52) Favorite place to be?
Anywhere with fresh air.

53) Where would you like to travel?
Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come my pretty mama. Key Largo, Montego, baby why don't we go… down to Kokomo! (Europe, South Africa, and Japan would be nice, too. Heehee!)

54) Where do you think you’ll be in 10 yrs.?
In my freaking bar.

55) What songs do you sing in the shower?
Whatever's playing on my laptop.

56) What was the last thing that made you laugh?
My officemate making fun of me.

57) Worst injury you’ve ever had?
That nerve thing that sent mind-numbing pain from my butt to my ankle. I walked, sat, and stood like an old lady for months.

58) Does someone have a crush on you?
Oh, they like me. They reeeeally like me!

59) What’s your favorite candy?
Starburst and Skittles!

60) What song is stuck in your head?
"Kokomo" by the Beach Boys, because I just typed the lyrics to the song thanks to this meme.
