Weekend Recap
October 16, 2006Today is my sister’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELISE!

Went to Santa Barbara last Saturday. I’m so bummed that I forgot to bring my camera with me because I saw a lot of cute guys. Bwahaha!
State Street and its surrounding areas are just great. It’s just the perfect place for downtown shopping, people-watching, and if you’re one for the night life, bar-hopping. I didn’t buy anything because I’m running low on moolah, but I did get to worship designer bags. Geh. We also saw people with snakes, lots of snakes, trying to raise money for whatever. I wanted to have a snake put on my shoulder but the rest of my group were so grossed out and wanted to leave so that was that.
While Ate Epie was busy at the Coach store, we were outside, and across the street there was this guy playing his guitar for money. He picked a good spot, too, because he was just right outside a coffee shop (I think it was the Coffee Bean). Anyway, some of his stuff were good. He had a nice, loud voice, which explains why I could hear him all the way from the other side of the street. I didn’t get to see his face because his back was facing us, but I saw that he had a tattoo on his nape.
I saw a lot of other interesting people while sitting outside the stores waiting.
There were a couple of topless guys walking around (it was a bit cold). One was with a buddy and he had tats on his chest. Another one was with his girlfriend and his dog. The latter actually smiled at me while he was waiting for his girl (who went inside the shoe store). The dog was cute and I learned that his name is Cory (I overheard the guy telling some passers-by who asked for the dog’s name).
There were also a group of angry poser kids wearing all black stuff. They were loud, especially this one girl who kept on screaming her fugly head off. I imagined her getting hit by a bus a la Mean Girls. Haha!
A middle-aged couple who were casually, but elegantly dressed, also passed by one time. I’m guessing they’re one of the rich folks. The man was holding a camera and as they passed by Coach, he pointed to the store and said to the woman, “Coach. Go.” And she went. There’s really nothing out of the ordinary with the scene, it’s just the way the man said it. Men on a budget just don’t say to their wives “Go and buy an expensive purse.” They say: “Do you really need another purse?”. Yeah, normal people don’t just go inside a Coach store and buy a 400-dollar purse.
Anyway, after a few hours of walking around we were beat. We tried to look for nice seafood restaurants around town, but since we didn’t know the place, we ended up on the freeway going to Ventura. Ventura’s on the way back, anyway. So then we found this place called Andria’s. It wasn’t the best seafood I’ve had, but it was still good. I like Captain Kidd’s at Redondo Beach better. But the best one would still be King’s Fish House in Calabasas. Yum!

Watched The Departed yesterday with Kuya Mike, Ate Epie, Ate Cris, and Kuya Ronan. I liked it. It was kinda slow at first (I nearly fell asleep), but when the movie started to pick up, boy, did it pick up. Oh, and thank you Lord for giving Leo some muscles and facial hair. I hated the skinny-ass, “teen idol” look. Jack Nicholson is still my man, though. He was just fun to watch. Matt and Mark were good, too.
